Do tattoos hurt?

Do tattoos hurt?

Of course, they do! However, the level of pain depends largely on placement. Some areas are far more sensitive than others, including the inner thighs, inner arms, back of the knees, over the knees, the bend of the elbow, and the stomach. These spots tend to be the most challenging to get tattooed.

How can I make the tattoo process more tolerable?

Proper preparation is key. Avoid alcohol the day before, stay well-hydrated, and most importantly—eat a good meal! A proper breakfast and some comfort food will help your body endure the process. Feel free to bring snacks to your appointment! Getting tattooed is the perfect excuse to indulge in a sugary snack or drink. Even short sessions can cause dizziness or fainting if you're not properly nourished.

What should I wear to my tattoo appointment?

Wear comfortable clothing and bring a blanket or pillow if you'd like. Sitting in the same position for long periods can be uncomfortable, so feel free to bring anything that helps you stay relaxed.

Can I use numbing cream?

I don’t mind if my clients use numbing cream, but there are a few things to consider. The biggest issue with numbing cream is that it wears off mid-session, and the sudden shock of feeling pain all at once can be uncomfortable. However, if you've done your research and found a numbing cream that works for you, I’m happy to accommodate.

I also offer a less invasive alternative—Bactine. I can apply it throughout the session to help mildly soothe the area.
