Tattoo Process

Consult

At KTEATTOO, every tattoo begins with a personalized consultation. This is your opportunity to share your ideas, ask questions, and collaborate on creating a design.sign that’s uniquely yours. Here’s what to expect:

1. Share Your Vision

Bring your inspiration, references, or rough sketches. Together, we’ll discuss:

  • Placement & size
  • Style preferences (realism, portraits, minimal, illustrative, etc.)

This helps me understand your vision and ensure your tattoo is exactly what you want.

2. Design & Customization

  • I’ll create a custom design tailored to your ideas, and body shape.
  • We can adjust size, placement, or details until it feels perfect.
  • For larger or multi-session projects, we’ll discuss the process, timeline, and pricing.

3. Discuss Pricing & Deposits

  • Small designs are typically priced per piece, larger or multi-session projects hourly.
  • A deposit secures your spot and is applied to your total.
  • We’ll review cancellation and rescheduling policies so you know exactly what to expect.

4. Health & Preparation

  • We’ll go over pre-tattoo preparation, including hydration, skin care, and what to avoid before your session.
  • I’ll answer any questions about pain management, healing, and aftercare.

5. Comfort & Personal Experience

  • Your consultation is private, relaxed, and judgment-free.
  • Enjoy a snack, drink, and music while we chat about your design.
  • The goal is to make you feel excited and confident for your session.

Tip:

Consultations are all about collaboration. The more information and inspiration you bring, the better I can create a tattoo that’s truly yours.

Pre-Tattoo

To ensure the best experience and results, please review these guidelines before your appointment:

1. Eat a Full Meal
A nourishing meal helps stabilize blood sugar and prevents lightheadedness, fatigue, or nausea during your session.

2. Hydrate Thoroughly
Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Proper hydration supports healthy skin and helps your body manage the physical stress of tattooing.

3. Avoid Blood Thinners & Stimulants (24+ hours prior)
To minimize bleeding and sensitivity, avoid:

  • Alcohol
  • Aspirin or ibuprofen
  • Excessive caffeine
Note: Tattoo artists cannot legally tattoo intoxicated clients.

4. Wear Comfortable Clothing
Choose loose, accessible clothing that allows easy access to your tattoo area and keeps you relaxed. Avoid tight or restrictive clothing.

5. Rest Well
A good night’s sleep ensures your body is relaxed and ready, making the session smoother and more comfortable.

For Longer Sessions

Bring a Snack
Keep blood sugar steady with easy-to-digest, energy-boosting snacks:

  • Granola bars
  • Fruit
  • Nuts or trail mix

Pack a Sports Drink or Juice
Electrolyte-rich drinks (like Gatorade or coconut water) help maintain hydration and energy during extended sessions.

Take Breaks if Needed
Don’t hesitate to ask for a short break if you feel tired or overwhelmed. Communication is key.

Reminders

  • Avoid tanning, sunburn, or exfoliating the area before your session. Healthy, intact skin tattoos best.
  • Shower beforehand and arrive clean, free of lotions, oils, or strong fragrances.
  • Bring a valid ID—proof of age is required.
  • If you feel unwell or are sick, please reschedule. Your body needs to be in optimal condition for both the tattooing process and healing.

Proper preparation helps ensure a smoother experience, better healing, and long-lasting results—so you can fully enjoy your Ink in Motion journey.

After Care

Proper aftercare is essential for healing beautifully and preserving your tattoo’s quality. Follow these steps closely for the best results.

1. Keep Your Tattoo Covered

If wrapped with a bandage:

  • Leave on for 1–2 hours, then begin aftercare.

If covered with Saniderm (or second skin):

  • Can remain on for 3–4 days as long as it stays sealed.
  • Do not poke or drain any bubbles that form from plasma or ink—this is normal.
  • If the Saniderm begins to peel or exposes the tattoo, remove it immediately to avoid infection.
  • Redness, swelling, or irritation around the edges? Remove the covering immediately to prevent scarring.

2. Wash Your Tattoo Gently

  • Use lukewarm water and a fragrance-free liquid soap (e.g., Dr. Bronner’s Unscented Baby Soap).
  • Clean the area gently with your hands—do not scrub.
  • Pat dry with a clean paper towel or allow to air dry; avoid cloth towels.
  • Wash twice daily for the first two weeks.

Avoid:

  • Hot water
  • Harsh or exfoliating soaps

3. Moisturize Consistently

  • Apply a thin layer of unscented moisturizer (e.g., Lubriderm, Hustle Butter) 2–3 times daily to prevent dryness and cracking.
  • Too much moisture can suffocate the tattoo and slow healing.

Avoid:

  • Petroleum-based products (e.g., Vaseline)
  • Fragranced or alcohol-based lotions

4. What to Avoid During Healing

For the first 2–3 weeks:

  • Direct sun exposure
  • Swimming (pools, lakes, rivers)
  • Hot tubs, hot springs, or baths—opt for showers instead

For the first 48 hours:

  • Intense workouts or activities that cause excessive sweating

Do not:

  • Pick or scratch your tattoo. Itching is normal—scratching can damage the skin and affect ink retention.

5. Monitor for Signs of Infection

  • Proper aftercare is critical to your tattoo’s long-term appearance.
  • Contact your artist or a medical professional if you notice:
  • Severe redness or swelling
  • Pus or unusual discharge
  • Fever or other signs of illness

Tip: Your tattoo is a work of art. Treat it with care, stay hydrated, and enjoy your Ink in Motion experience!
